On Saturday 8th September a number of English Scots from the Edinburgh and Lothians region met at the Athletic Arms in Edinburgh for a social gathering and to chat about past and proposed activities for the coming months. As part of this meeting is was decided by those present that the branch should organise more formally with a constitution.
There is a sample constitution that is based on the one used by Edinburgh Branch of Women for Independence which has been put forward as the starting point. There will now be a six week consultation period and a meeting will be arranged as soon as possible after 20th October to discuss and agree the draft wording. This agreed draft will be posted here and circulated via facebook and a formal four week notice of our first AGM will be issued. Assuming all goes to plan this process will be completed by the end of November.
